The FRICKE Group is one of Europe’s leading spare parts distributors. With GRANIT PARTS the company operates an international B2B store with more than 13 million items and a high dependency on its online store: 97% of the company’s revenue is generated through online sales.
The system has grown over the years, is deeply integrated and has scaled internationally. This is where the challenge lies: a system that runs reliably and adapts continuously to growing demands.

A grown system under high demands
A large portion of the business was already being conducted online through the GRANIT PARTS division from an early stage. Without compromising the stability of ongoing operations, the existing system needed to be further developed so that it could reliably handle high loads, meet international requirements and maintain close integration with ERP, partners and customer systems.
Therefore, what was needed, was not a rigid standard solution, but a flexible, high-performance foundation for continuous development.

Gradual decoupling instead of a complete rebuild
The platform was developed in multiple stages.
First goal: to establish a stable foundation that can handle peak loads and be developed independently.
We implemented a Hybris system that is largely decoupled from the ERP. This resulted in a new GRANIT webshop that combines stable communication with international requirements.
Second goal: secure business growth at a technical level without compromising quality, speed or stability.
The focus was on developing new features. Partner shops were introduced, improvements to the registration and login processes were made and the product portfolio was expanded to more broadly cover the requirements of B2B customers.
Several key technical decisions were made that still hold strong today:
In addition, a clear team structure was established around core domains: Discovery, Purchase and After-Sales.
separation of backend and frontend
webviews for mobile apps
multiple linked shopping carts per customer
modern, responsive layout
What sets the platform apart
ERP-independent
By decoupling the commerce platform from the ERP system, development can move faster, allowing new features to be brought to market much sooner.
Designed for growth
With partner shops, the platform supports the integration of existing sales channels and the expansion into new markets.
Designed for continuous evolution
The platform provides a solid foundation for meeting the growing demands of a dynamic market environment.
What I particularly appreciate about the neuland team is their exceptional expertise in large-scale e-commerce systems and their clear, honest communication. neuland takes ownership, contributes both technically and methodologically, and is therefore a key factor in our success.
